Tanya Davis.
This is the poem by Tanya that I used for my Contemporary Critical theory essay. It was awesome.
You are being a crush to me as the crushes I had in high school.
I wanted to call but I’m nervous
And so I’m fighting urges to write your name all over my notebook pages.
I’ve had you in my dreams on numerous occasions.
And lately I find myself missing bits of conversation,
Because instead of listening
I’m drifting off into visions of me and you together
In some kitchen and we’re against the counter top
or the fridge and we’re kissing.
The food lays behind waiting for us to stop so we can fix it
call it dinner and then sit with cups of tea.
It is a sweet scene but it is only a daydream
You are being a crush to me but you don’t even know how big.
