inspire
I really love this print. It's by Kristopher Hedley.
I borrowed an art book from work. It's the most inspiring art book I've seen yet. It's a book of 200 projects, or ways of looking at art and techniques that will improve artistic skill and help build a body of work. I am very excited about it.
Tomorrow morning I will roam the downtown streets of Halifax a free bird; tomorrow afternoon I will create beautiful things.
"we were promised so much and it's going i know but you look so good when you're laughing you know" - Red Heart : Hey Rosetta!
"the river's up, the reeds are caught halfway across what never was the water rose and swept in slow when the reeds awoke they were half below" - I've Been Asleep for a Long Long Time : Hey Rosetta!
Memories of Kites.
On my last "family road trip," the year after I graduated from high school we drove from Calgary to the border between California and Oregon and camped along the way. I was after the Salinas Valley, as per The Grapes of Wrath. We didn't quite make it, but I bought a kite in a town where one of my teenage online saviors grew up and flew it on the beach in the west coast wind.
I brought my kite to Halifax, I can't wait to go flying.
jellyfish
Today, for the first time in my life, I saw jellyfish in the Halifax harbour. They were pink and silky looking. Beautiful. There were three larger ones and hundreds of mini ones about the size of a loonie. Amazing.
